Chelsy Eddings – BCMB
BCMB PhD candidate Chelsy Rahé Eddings has been awarded the 2021 HHMI Gilliam Fellowship for Advanced Study. From 296 national applicants, Chelsy and her mentor Shigeki Watanabe were selected to receive 1 of 50 awards as a mentee-mentor pair. The Gilliam Fellowship awards mentees from backgrounds historically underrepresented in STEM who show promise of scientific leadership, and principal investigators committed to mentorship and diversity. This fellowship will fund Chelsy’s continued training, offer skill development opportunities for both mentee and mentor, and provide funds for a Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) project.
